THE World University Rankings 2025

Times Higher Education (THE), has announced the THE World University Rankings 2025. This ranking evaluates universities across five areas: Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, Industry Income, and International Outlook, using 17 performance indicators to calculate scores. It is published annually.

This year, 2,092 universities from 115 countries and regions were included in the rankings, with 144 universities from Japan making the list.

Our university achieved the following rankings:

  • Global ranking: Elevated to the 801-1000 band.
  • National ranking in Japan: Tied for 16th place alongside Okayama University, Tokyo Medical University, and Waseda University.
  • In the Kansai region: Ranked 4th, following Kyoto University, Osaka University, and Kobe University.
  • Among public universities in Japan: Ranked 2nd.
  • Among medical universities in Japan: Tied for 2nd place.

In particular, our university received high evaluations for the indicators of Research Quality and Industry Income.
